Some much-needed relief at the pumps: Dangote has just cut fuel prices again.
Some good news for motorists and businesses.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a fresh reduction in its ex-depot prices for petrol and diesel, and it is a decent drop.
According to a statement signed by the Dangote Group on Wednesday, the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, has been reduced from N1,215 to N1,165 per litre. That is a N50 cut.
Diesel, or Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), is also coming down. It has been slashed from N1,650 to N1,570 per litre, which is an N80 reduction.
The refinery said the move is all about making energy more affordable and accessible for Nigerians, while keeping supply stable. In its words, it remains committed to providing “affordable, high-quality petroleum products to the Nigerian market” and delivering value to consumers, businesses and stakeholders through improved operational efficiency.
For many households and businesses feeling the pinch, this price review could not have come at a better time.
