The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has disclosed that her personal email account has been compromised by hackers.
The former member of the House of Representatives urged the public to disregard any messages sent from the account.
CBI News reports that Dabiri-Erewa raised the alarm in a statement shared via her 𝕏 handle, warning that any correspondence originating from her email address, aodabiri@yahoo.com, or any other related account, should be treated as invalid until the issue is resolved.
She explained that the breach has affected her ability to manage both official and personal communications, appealing for patience and understanding from colleagues and associates while efforts are ongoing to regain control.
She wrote, “Please be informed that my email account (aodabiri@yahoo.com) has been compromised by hackers.
“Kindly ignore any emails purportedly sent from me using this or any other address until I regain full control of the account. I will unfortunately not be able to respond to the thousands of emails that must have accumulated during this period.”
The NiDCOM boss, however, assured that steps are being taken to secure the account and restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
