This is the third straight win for the Italian side..
Captain Lucas Da Cunha scored a superb second-half winner as Como 1907 defeated Cagliari Calcio 2-1 on Saturday to move level on points with fourth-placed AS Roma in Serie A.
A third straight league victory for Como, coached by Cesc Fabregas, kept the pressure on Roma, who visit Genoa CFC on Sunday in the race for UEFA Champions League qualification.
Como, who have never played in a European competition, will host the capital club next weekend.
Sixth-placed Juventus FC are four points behind the pair ahead of their match against Pisa SC later on Saturday.
Como took an early lead when Martin Baturina turned in Da Cunha’s mishit shot, but Cagliari levelled 11 minutes after halftime through Sebastiano Esposito.
The visitors secured all three points in the 76th minute as Da Cunha hammered a long-range strike into the top corner.
