Boots on the ground in Osogbo, CBI News is live as Osun prepares for its big governorship showdown.
The CBI News team has arrived in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 20206, reports cbinews.tv.
We are not here to watch from the sidelines. The team is in the state to provide comprehensive on-the-ground coverage including voter turnout, security arrangements, polling activities, reactions from residents and political stakeholders, plus overall conduct of the exercise, reports cbinews.tv.
Leading the operation is Femi Fabunmi, who will coordinate reporting and fieldwork throughout the election period.
Also on the ground is Loveday Otobor, our photojournalist who will capture photographs and visual moments from across the state during the election.
Movement across the state is handled by Solomon Gbamire, our driver who is responsible for transportation and logistics as the team covers different locations.

Osun is one of Nigeria's eight off-cycle governorship states, a status it has held since the legal battles of 2007 that reshaped its electoral calendar. Elections here are always fiercely contested and seen as a test ahead of the 2027 general elections. In 2022, over 1.4 million voters were accredited, and INEC projects a similar or higher turnout this time.
