Tinubu expresses condolences to Borno residents following recent terror attacks in Maiduguri...
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep condolences to the people of Borno State following recent terror attacks in Maiduguri.
In a statement on March 17, 2026, the President mourned the lives lost, sympathised with the injured, and reaffirmed solidarity with residents during this difficult period.
“These acts of terror are the final desperate and frantic attempts by criminals and terrorist elements trying to instil and spread fear, as they are under constant pressure from our brave armed forces and security agencies,” Tinubu said.
He commended the courage and resilience of the military and civilian task forces who successfully repelled coordinated attacks on military positions in the state.
“Just last weekend, during a security meeting with leaders of security and intelligence agencies, I approved additional equipment and operational support to enhance their capabilities. This effort is already in progress,” the President added.
CBI News reports that Tinubu also directed security chiefs to move to Maiduguri to oversee operations and instructed emergency agencies to provide care for the injured.
He assured Nigerians that terrorists would find no safe haven in the country, stating, “We will locate them, confront them, and completely defeat them. Nigeria will not succumb to fear.”
