Popular social media influencer Blessing CEO is now in EFCC custody after a Lagos Federal High Court ordered her remand over an alleged N36 million fraud case involving a disputed property deal.
According to cbinews.tv, there was drama at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday as Justice D.I. Dipeolu ordered the remand of social media personality and self-styled relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, over an alleged N36 million fraud case.
She was arraigned by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing.
The EFCC told the court that between July 14 and 17, 2024, she allegedly received N36 million from a complainant, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye, under the claim that it was for leasing a six-bedroom duplex in Lekki, Lagos—an assertion prosecutors say was false.
During the hearing, her lawyer informed the court that N24 million had already been refunded and requested time to settle the remaining balance, suggesting the matter could still be resolved outside court.
However, the prosecution insisted the case should proceed, noting that the Federal Government is the nominal complainant and urging the court to take her plea.
Justice Dipeolu held that discussions between parties could still continue but ruled that the defendant must take her plea. Blessing CEO pleaded “not guilty” to the charges.
Her legal team also requested that she be remanded in EFCC custody pending the perfection of her bail conditions, rather than a correctional facility. The court granted the request and ordered her remand in EFCC custody.
The case has been adjourned till June 5, 2026, for the commencement of trial.
