Big money moves brewing between Africa and Canada! Africa’s richest man has just sat down with Canada’s Prime Minister for talks that could unlock billions in fresh investment.

In a major boost for Canada-Africa relations, President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, has held high-level talks with Canada’s Prime Minister, Mark Carney, according to cbinews.tv.

And it wasn’t just a quick handshake. According to cbinews.tv, the two leaders had a proper deep-dive into how to strengthen investment partnerships and deepen economic cooperation between Canada and the continent.

Top of the agenda? Expanding investment opportunities in Canada and looking at how the Dangote Group, alongside other African investors, can actually help power Canada’s economic growth. They also thrashed out ideas around Canada’s Africa Strategy and why we need to see much stronger two-way trade.

Dangote, ever the businessman, was quick to point out the win-win. He emphasised that closer ties between African and Canadian businesses would unlock huge opportunities for job creation, innovation, industrial development, and long-term prosperity.

“Strategic partnerships between Africa and Canada have immense potential to drive sustainable growth and create value for both regions. There is a strong case for increasing investment, fostering innovation, and building mutually beneficial commercial relationships,” Dangote said.

It didn’t stop there. As part of his visit, Dangote also met with Ahmed Hussen, MP and Chair of Canada’s Foreign Affairs Committee, where both men doubled down on the need to push Canada-Africa economic relations forward through enhanced trade and long-term strategic cooperation.

One thing’s clear – both sides are serious about turning talk into inclusive growth and sustainable development.
