Barca are cooking this summer! The Spanish champions have just pulled off another big one, snapping up Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi.
Barcelona have completed the signing of forward Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund for a reported fee of 29 million euros, including potential add-ons.
According to cbinews.tv, the deal was confirmed on Thursday.
“Adeyemi becomes a new Barca player for the next five seasons, until June 30, 2031,” Barcelona said in a statement.
The versatile 24-year-old becomes Barca’s second signing of the window after they splashed out on England international Anthony Gordon from Newcastle.
And what a signing he is. Lightning quick and capable of playing up front or on either flank, Adeyemi adds some serious pace and directness to Barca’s attack, especially after the departure of veteran striker Robert Lewandowski.
The Catalans also lost Marcus Rashford following the end of his loan spell from Manchester United, which left them a bit short in the final third.
Adeyemi is a familiar face for boss Hansi Flick, who actually handed him his debut for the German national team back in 2021.
The attacker joined Dortmund in 2022 from Red Bull Salzburg and went on to net 36 goals in 146 games across all competitions during four seasons before making the switch to Camp Nou.
The Spanish champions are not done yet either, as they have also made a bid for Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, who is understood to be their primary target this summer.
