Bauchi governor says forget Aso Rock, his eyes are firmly on the Senate, not a joint ticket with Goodluck Jonathan.
So, let's clear the air.
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has come out swinging against the latest round of political gist making the rounds online. He says he is not dumping the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) to rejoin the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as Goodluck Jonathan's running mate in 2027.
The whole drama started after a post by Nuhu Sada (@nuhusada) on X claimed Bala was set to resign from the APM and pitch his tent with a PDP faction backing Jonathan for president.
Bala wasn't having it.
In a direct response on his verified handle @senbalamohammed, he called the story speculative and inaccurate, emphasising that his political trajectory hasn't changed one bit.
His words were pretty clear: "Thank you for your interest in my political aspirations. However, for the sake of clarity, my focus remains firmly on contesting for the Bauchi South Senatorial District seat under the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). Any reports suggesting a different political course should be disregarded as speculative and inaccurate."
In other words, no PDP return, no VP slot, no Jonathan ticket. Just Bauchi South Senate on the APM platform.
Nuhu Sada later replied, acknowledging the governor's clarification and wishing him well in his 2027 pursuit.
