Ex-Tinubu Aide says Nigeria more insecure under Tinubu...
Former Special Adviser on Political Matters to Bola Tinubu, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has criticised the president’s performance, saying the country have worsened since he took office.
Baba-Ahmed, speaking on Channels Television on Tuesday, said he had seen no improvement in the administration’s record since leaving office.
“I haven’t seen any improvement in the records of President Tinubu since I left. On the contrary, I have seen a deterioration. The nation is a lot more insecure now, levels of desperation and poverty are more pronounced,” he said.
He added that relying on political alliances for re-election was “poor thinking,” and said Tinubu “will make an even worse president if he comes back to power.”
The remarks come amid mounting security concerns in parts of Nigeria.
During an official visit to Adamawa State, Tinubu praised National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu for what he described as a “job well done.”
“National Security Adviser, Nuhudeen Ribadu, a son of the soil, I must say clearly here that you are doing an excellent job and we are seeing the results,” Tinubu said.
“With you, we will defeat the bandits and terrorists. You are a good national security adviser, honest, bold, courageous and committed to the job,” he added.
Despite the praise, Communities in parts of the country have continued to grapple with kidnappings, killings and destruction of property by armed groups commonly referred to as bandits.
