B-Red survives alleged assassination attempt near Osun govt house...
Nigerian singer, B-Red, has narrowly escaped an alleged assassination attempt in Osogbo, Osun State.
CBI News reports that the incident reportedly occurred near the Oke-Fia area, close to the Osun State Government House.
According to the singer, he was chased by a group of suspected hoodlums while driving through the area.
He said the incident began when he stepped out to purchase items at Alekuwodo market.
“As I went out to buy some stuff around Alekuwodo market, I saw some Okada riders with AMBO caps trying to surround my vehicle at a traffic point under Okefia Bridge,” he said.
B-Red explained that as he attempted to leave, a white Toyota Venza joined the pursuit, alongside several motorcycles.
“As we moved, the Toyota Venza pursued us, trying to block my jeep, while multiple motorcycles also joined in the chase,” he added.
The pursuit continued until he reached the gate of the Government House, where he found safety.
The singer said he recognised one of the individuals involved in the incident.
“We identified one of the occupants of the vehicle to be Asiri Eniba,” he stated, describing the individual as a known political thug.
Following the incident, the Osun State Government called for the arrest and prosecution of those involved.
The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, urged security agencies to act swiftly.
The case has been reported to the police, with investigations currently ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
