Grieving mother mourns her son killed in the Jos attack...
A grieving mother, Mrs Favour Ayuba, whose son Promise was killed during the recent attack in Jos, Plateau State, has expressed deep anguish, calling for justice in an emotional moment captured on video.
CBI News reports that the incident which occurred on Palm Sunday on March 29, in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, saw gunmen attack residents in an incident which left at least 24 people dead and several others injured.
In a viral video, Mrs Ayuba, speaking in Hausa through tears, lamented the loss of her son and the pain she has endured since the attack.
Ayuba revealed she had not eaten since the incident and struggled to come to terms with the tragedy.
“If you want me to forget, baby, avenge your death. I carried you in my womb for nine months; you suckled at my breast… I trust you, revenge for me,” she said while mourning.
The grieving mother was also seen placing a cutlass wrapped in white cloth inside her son’s coffin, symbolising her anguish and desire for justice.
Reflecting on her son’s life, she added, “Today is your birthday… You don’t like seeing me in tears, and I will not weep for you. Baby, I have not eaten since Sunday… but from today I promise you I will eat.”
She also referenced the biblical figure Gideon, expressing hope and strength despite her loss.
