It was a clean sweep for Atiku in Osun, as the former Vice President took all 30 local government areas in the ADC presidential primary.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has come out on top in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary held in Osun State, according to cbinewstv.
Atiku clinched the win with 12,321 votes, comfortably ahead of Hayatu Deen Muhammed who garnered 4,000 votes. Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, came in third with 679 votes.
The committee overseeing the primary said Atiku won in all 30 local government areas across the state.
In a statement released in Osogbo on Tuesday by Osun ADC spokesperson Oluwaseun Abosede, the chairman of the electoral committee, Olusola Adepoju, announced the results.
“Atiku Abubakar won the entire 30 LGAs in the state,” Abosede’s statement read. “He polled 12,321 out of 17,000 total votes cast in the primary. He was followed by Hayatu Deen Muhammed with over 4,000 votes, while Rotimi Amaechi polled 679 votes.”
