Arsenal director spotted at Galatasaray game amid Osimhen talks...
Sporting director of Arsenal FC, Andrea Berta, has been spotted at a Galatasaray match amid growing reports linking the club with a move for Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen.
CBI News reports that Osimhen’s impressive form in Turkey has continued to attract interest from top European clubs, with speculation over a possible move to the Premier League gaining fresh momentum.
Berta is reportedly seeking to strengthen Arsenal’s attack despite the club’s strong domestic and European outings this season.
Reports indicate that he travelled to Turkey for talks with Galatasaray president, Dursun Özbek.
The development gained traction after Turkish journalist Serkan Korkmaz claimed via social media that discussions had already taken place.
“The Arsenal sporting director and Özbek met last night [Sunday]. Any other claims about what was discussed in their private meeting are not true,” he wrote.
Arsenal fans are likely to welcome the development, with concerns lingering over the team’s attacking efficiency.
New signing Viktor Gyökeres, who joined from Sporting Lisbon last summer, has struggled to deliver consistently at the Emirates Stadium, intensifying calls for a proven goalscorer.
Osimhen further underlined his quality with an outstanding performance in Galatasaray’s 3-0 victory over Fenerbahçe in the Intercontinental Derby.
The match reportedly attracted scouts from European giants such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Juventus.
The Nigerian striker opened the scoring just before half-time, reacting quickest to finish from close range as his side strengthened their grip on the Turkish Super Lig title race.
He has now recorded 13 goals and four assists in 20 league appearances this season, building on last year’s impressive tally of 37 goals in 41 matches.
