Arsenal identifies Osimhen as a leading alternative target if a move for Julian Alvarez proves unattainable...
Victor Osimhen’s time in Istanbul may be shorter than expected, with Europe’s top clubs already circling less than a year after his high-profile move to Galatasaray.
Arsenal and Juventus are both closely monitoring the Nigerian striker’s situation, raising fresh questions about his long-term future in Turkey.
Osimhen, 27, joined Galatasaray in a €75 million deal and is contracted to the club until 2029.
However, sustained interest from elite European sides has fuelled speculation that the striker could be tempted away if the right opportunity emerges.
At Arsenal, recruitment plans are understood to centre on Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez.
The Argentine, who moved from Manchester City to Atletico in 2024, is under contract until 2030, making any deal complex and financially demanding.
As a result, Osimhen has reportedly been identified as a leading alternative should Alvarez prove unattainable, particularly given the Nigerian’s proven pedigree at the highest level.
Although Galatasaray are said to be reluctant to sanction any sale in 2026, sources indicate that an offer in the region of €100 million could force serious discussions, especially if Osimhen signals a desire to return to one of Europe’s top five leagues.
The striker is believed to be open to a Premier League move, having already cemented his reputation during his prolific spell with Napoli in Serie A.
Juventus are also tracking developments closely. Reports from Italy suggest the Turin giants are impressed by Galatasaray’s financial commitment to Osimhen and could be prepared to act if a window of opportunity opens.
CBI News reports that Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk recently addressed the financial weight of the deal, noting the club’s growing expenditure on elite players.
“Galatasaray’s transfer fees and salaries have been going up since last year. With Osimhen’s transfer fee and salary, you could probably put together a full team,” Buruk said.
“We need to take these things into account. We brought in some very important players for the team, such as Singo, Ugurcan, Sane, and Ilkay. Every team has a budget, and when you set up budgets at the start of the season, you need to follow that budget closely.”
Those comments are said to have resonated in Turin, where Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti is keen on a reunion with the striker he guided to Napoli’s historic Serie A title in 2023.
Under Spalletti, Osimhen enjoyed the most productive season of his career, scoring 26 league goals, winning the Golden Boot, and leading Napoli to their first Scudetto in decades.
With Juventus considering an attacking overhaul and uncertainty surrounding Dusan Vlahovic’s future, Osimhen is viewed as a potential statement signing capable of leading a new era at the club.
On the pitch, the former Lille forward continues to justify the attention.
He has recorded 14 goals and one assist in 20 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray so far.
Internationally, Osimhen also impressed at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, scoring four goals and providing two assists in six matches.
His performances earned him a place in the Team of the Tournament as he helped Nigeria secure a bronze medal, further underlining his status as one of Africa’s most coveted forwards.
