In a decisive win down south, Rotimi Amaechi just showed he’s got serious pull in Bayelsa.
Former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi has come out on top in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary held in Bayelsa State, comfortably seeing off competition from ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Hayatu-Deen Muhammed.
According to cbinewstv, Amaechi secured a commanding 44,404 votes in the statewide exercise. Atiku followed with 6,570 votes, while Hayatu-Deen polled 939.
The primary, which unfolded across Bayelsa, forms part of the wider race among hopefuls vying for the ADC’s presidential ticket ahead of the next general election.
