NSCDC say those arrested have no valid documents...
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has arrested 20 foreign nationals in the Danbare area of Kumbotso Local Government Area over alleged illegal entry and lack of valid documentation.
The suspects comprise 12 Sudanese, 6 Chadians, 1 Cameroonian, and 1 Nigerien.
According to eyewitness accounts, suspicion arose when residents noticed that most of the group could not communicate in Hausa or English.
One suspect, the only member able to converse in Hausa, admitted to securing the rented apartment for the group.
NSCDC Commandant Muhammad Agalama confirmed that preliminary investigations revealed the individuals lacked valid travel documents.
He added that relevant agencies have been notified and that appropriate legal steps are being taken to handle the matter in line with established procedures
