Think Afrobeats stars are swimming in cash? BNXN just burst that bubble.
According to cbinews.tv, Afrobeats singer Daniel Benson — better known as BNXN — has weighed in on the age-old debate: who’s richer, musicians or athletes? And his take is pretty blunt.
Chatting on a recent livestream with streamer Ojo, the *‘Finesse’* hitmaker said that outside of footballers, NBA players are on a completely different financial level compared to most musicians.
“I’m friends with a few NBA guys,” BNXN explained. “These guys have so much money. Nigerian artists don’t even have as much money as them.”
He singled out players like Jaylen Brown to make his point, saying the kind of wealth they’re sitting on is “insane.”
“Afrobeats are not close to athletes in terms of earnings,” he added.
So yeah — while Afrobeats is taking over globally, BNXN reckons the bank balances aren’t quite matching up with the NBA’s big earners yet.
