Fifteen players have reported to the Super Eagles camp in Antalya as Nigeria intensify preparations for upcoming international friendlies against Iran and Jordan.
CBI News reports that the camp officially opened on Tuesday, March 24, with coaching and backroom staff arriving earlier in the day to finalise arrangements ahead of the players’ arrival.
An advance party which departed Nigeria on Monday included assistant coaches Daniel Ogunmodede and Fidelis Ilechukwu, alongside medical staff and the kit manager.
By Tuesday evening, team media officer Promise Efoghe confirmed that 15 players were already in camp, with the squad further boosted by the arrival of forward Samuel Chukwueze and goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.
Among the early arrivals are Alex Iwobi and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru in midfield, while the defence group includes Semi Ajayi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Emmanuel Fernandez.
In attack, Moses Simon, Paul Onuachu, Philip Otele and Collins Yira Sor have also joined the squad.
Goalkeepers Francis Uzoho and Adebayo Adeleye are in camp, alongside Frank Onyeka who completes the current group.
Several players are still expected to arrive.
They include Calvin Bassey, Zaidu Sanusi, Igoh Ogbu, Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, Ademola Lookman, Chidera Ejuke and Akor Adams.
The team is based at the Bellis Deluxe Hotel in Antalya, where their first training session is scheduled for 4 p.m. local time on Wednesday, March 25.
Nigeria will face Iran on Friday, March 27, at 4 p.m. Nigerian time, before taking on Jordan on Tuesday, March 31, with kick-off set for 8 p.m.
The matches were relocated to Turkey from Jordan due to security concerns and rising tensions in parts of the Middle East.
Head coach Eric Chelle had named a 23-man squad for the tour, though notable absentees include Victor Osimhen, Ola Aina and first-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
