Seeing those “NECO supervisor jobs” popping up online asking for cash? Hold up. NECO says they’re fake – and you shouldn’t pay a kobo to supervise the 2026 SSCE.
So, here’s the gist, courtesy of cbinews.tv: The National Examinations Council, NECO, is warning everyone about fraudsters running dodgy online portals. These fake sites are tricking people into submitting academic details and paying money to become exam supervisors. Classic scam energy.
NECO’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, set the record straight on Tuesday. First off, NECO does not charge teachers a thing to supervise the upcoming 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal. If anyone’s asking for payment, it’s a red flag.
What’s actually happening? NECO has ditched the old-school analogue way of picking supervisors. Everything’s gone digital now – part of a move recommended by the Ministerial Committee on the Improvement of Quality of Examination in Nigeria.
Who can apply?
If you’re a pensionable teacher on Grade Level 12 and above, aged 30+, and fancy supervising the 2026 SSCE Internal, go straight to the official NECO recruitment portal. No middlemen, no agents, no “helpful” third parties. The whole process is automated.
Why the switch? NECO says the new system is meant to cut out fraud, tighten up supervision, reduce exam malpractice, and keep things fair and transparent. Makes sense.
How many supervisors are we talking?
Over 22,000 will be recruited for the 2026 SSCE Internal, which kicks off on 15 June 2026.
Bottom line from NECO: Ignore any unofficial portals. Don’t send money to anyone claiming they can get you the job. If it’s not on NECO’s official site, bin it.
