Over 100 people unaccounted for and more than 500 injured in floods triggered by a week of intense rain.
Indonesia's National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB) stepped up emergency relief, as it sent 11 helicopters with aid to isolated communities after catastrophic floods hit Sumatra.
Footage captured in Aceh on Sunday November 30, 2025 showed helicopters above water‑submerged villages.
The floods which was triggered by a week of intense monsoon rains across Indonesia's largest island, caused widespread destruction of homes, roads and bridges.
Residents gathered in hundreds to receive supplies as aid is unloaded.
Tens of thousands of people have reportedly been displaced, and many remained stranded due to major roads being blocked across the province.
The provincial government declared a state of emergency in Aceh for a period of 14 days which facilitated evacuations, logistical distribution, and inter-agency coordination.
According to BNPB, the number of confirmed deaths due to the flooding and landslides was 303.
